The research activity will focus on complications during and after surgery for hip fracture. Oversight will be provided by Professor Matthew Costa as primary supervisor. The role will include conducting a systematic review, cleaning and analysing a large cohort study, correlating complications with outcomes and resource use data. Responsibilities 1) Design and conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of complications after hip fracture 2) Conduct a correlation analysis between complications, outcomes and resource use using the WHiTE cohort data 3) Contribute to the broader research of the Trauma and Emergency Care Research Group 4) Attend regular supervisory meetings 5) Engage in self-directed learning to develop doctoral-level proficiency in systematic review, clinical cohort analysi, and prediction modelling. 6) Provide necessary reports and accounting to funding bodies 7) Complete all mandatory training for DPhil students enrolled at NDORMS. 8) The postholder will also be responsible for submitting their work to international peer reviews through attending appropriate scientific meetings and submission to respected journals. 9) To adhere to the GMC Codes of Conduct and ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines at all times.
