The role The OSO Head of Media Production and Innovation plays a pivotal role in supporting the growth ambitions of Oxford Saïd Online (OSO), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative educational media content. Reporting to the Director, Online Learning Innovation and Impact, this role is critical in maintaining OSO’s reputation as a leading educational technology partner within the university and beyond. The successful candidate will lead the strategic planning, operational management, and innovation of media production, driving excellence in online learning experiences. Responsibilities     Strategic Leadership and Vision: Lead the strategic planning and development of a comprehensive media production strategy that aligns with OSO’s growth objectives and the wider university’s digital learning strategy. This includes identifying emerging trends, media technologies, and opportunities to enhance the university’s online learning offerings. Team Leadership and Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing media production team, including video producers, editors, and motion designers. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, continuous learning, and professional development. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team. Innovative Media Production: Oversee the creation of cutting-edge multimedia content, ensuring the production of high-quality, engaging educational assets such as videos, animations, interactive media, and audio recordings. Oversee the simultaneous management of multiple media projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.  Resource and Financial Management: Manage the media production budget, ensuring the optimal allocation of resources to meet strategic goals. Maintain transparency and accountability in financial management, tracking expenditures, and ensuring costefficiency while meeting OSO’s growth objectives.  Quality Assurance and Innovation: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure all media content meets the highest pedagogical, technical, and creative standards. Selection criteria Essential selection criteria  Proven track record in strategic media production leadership within an educational or large-scale organisation.  Extensive experience in managing diverse media teams and leading the development of large-scale multimedia content portfolios.  Deep knowledge of media production technologies, pedagogical principles, and innovative media techniques.  Strong financial management experience, including resource allocation, budget oversight, and cost optimisation.  Demonstrated ability to influence and shape university-wide policies and media production strategies.  Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
