Part-time Impact Support Officer

Applications for this vacancy closed on 28 November 2012 at 12:00PM
THIS VACANCY IS FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY.

The Humanities Division is seeking to appoint an Impact Support Officer to
join us as we prepare our submissions for the 2014 Research Excellence
Framework (REF). This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual
with the right skill-set to play a key role in ensuring that the impact case
studies we submit to the REF best present the full range of benefits arising
from the world-class research undertaken in the Humanities at Oxford.

This is a novel task for the University and a key focus will be to help
researchers identify, evidence, and shape a convincing and coherent narrative
about impact we have not previously sought to measure. The successful
applicant will possess proven communication and interpersonal skills and the
confidence to engage with senior academics and the 'users' of humanities
research outside higher education, as well as strong analytical skills and a
lateral approach to solving problems. A research background is not a
prerequisite for this post, but an interest in Humanities research and an
enquiring attitude are highly desirable.

This post presents an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and
experience and to work closely with academics and administrators on a project
that is of key strategic importance to the Division. The post which is part-
time (0.6FTE) is available immediately.

Please note that this post may be made available as a secondment. You are
asked to indicate in your supporting statement whether you wish to be
considered for a secondment, and if so, confirmation of your line manager's
in-principle agreement to a secondment.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact the Division's REF
Officer, Dr Fiona Groenhout.

Only applications received before noon on 28 November 2012 can be considered.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your
online application.
