<div> The Faculty, in association with the Bodleian Library, and the Faculties of History, Theology and Music, is seeking to appoint a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in religious writing in the German middle ages. The individual will undertake teaching and research in this area.<br><br>Mellon postdoctoral fellowships are funded by the Andrew W Mellon Foundation and are designed to provide an intensive and supported career development opportunity for outstanding academics at an early stage of their career.<br><br>By the time of taking up the appointment, individuals must hold a Masters degree and a PhD/DPhil in a discipline related to the research area. They should be intending to pursue a new line of research that is not derivative of their PhD thesis and is related to religious writing in the early middle ages. They should have an excellent research record and have an appropriate number of publications for the stage of their academic career. Candidates may have a background in Modern Languages, History, Theology or Music, but must have the requisite language skills (Middle High German and Latin) in order to deal with material in the original. <br><br>All applicants must consult the further particulars available below.<br><br>The closing date is 12 noon on Monday 4 February 2013.<br></div>
