Part-time Finance Officer

The Department of Primary Care Health Sciences is a world-class research
department with a busy, friendly finance and administration team. We are
looking to recruit a part-time (0.6 WTE – 21.9 hours a week) Finance Officer
to provide support to the Department Administrator in day-to-day aspects of
departmental financial administration.

Your responsibilities will include; month and year end financial reporting,
ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining files, processing expense claims,
managing petty cash and raising sales invoices. In addition to this, you will
also be overseeing all student finances and managing the insurance
arrangements for staff business travel.

You will need to be proficient in ORACLE or similar financial system with
strong Excel skills and excellent general finance/office skills (purchasing,
payments and record-keeping systems). You will need to be very organised and
able to work on your own initiative as well as able to work successfully as
part of a team. We need a patient person with excellent interpersonal skills,
someone who is able to explain finance to non-financial people.

Ideally you will also have an AAT or other accounting qualification and
Microsoft training, however this is not essential.

Interviews will be held on Friday 8 February 2013.
