This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead the administration of a large and complex Faculty within the Humanities Division. The Faculty has over 1100 students and more than 100 academic and research staff, and is based in central Oxford. This is a full-time post available for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. The post is available from 22 July 2013.

This is a senior post, responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day non-academic management and administration of the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages. The Head of Administration and Finance is responsible for the smooth running of a team of 21 staff providing administrative, finance and IT services for the Faculty, as well as working closely with academic staff on a wide range of academic policy issues.

You will have administrative experience within higher/further education, a public sector environment or other large, complex organisation, including experience of financial management, personnel management, and committee servicing. You will have strong organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise and delegate appropriately. You will be an accomplished communicator with effective interpersonal skills, able to work with and inspire confidence in a wide range of people across the University.

This post is fixed-term up to 12 months.
