<div> The Humanities Division, in collaboration with the Bodleian Libraries, is seeking a Research Associate to work on a 1-year project, &#8216;Enabling Digital Humanities research through effective data preservation&#8217;, which aims to address some of the issues surrounding the sustainability and preservation of data and resources created by digital projects in the humanities. <br><br>Working closely with key stakeholders in the Humanities Division as well as the Bodleian, IT Services, OeRC, and with 14 major Oxford projects in the digital humanities, you will develop, test, implement and promote a set of guidelines and procedures for preparing data for preservation. You will work in close conjunction with the recently instituted university-wide services for data management, and complement these by providing for the specific preservation needs of humanities data creators. Your aims in this 1-year project are to have a set of well documented best practice guidelines for preservation of data in the humanities, and the creation of an archive of humanities data (in existing systems) with sufficient critical mass to encourage uptake by future data creators. <br><br>This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your strong research, technical and communication skills to help establish and document guidelines and best practice in an emerging and important area.<br><br>You will have a degree-level qualification in a relevant area, or equivalent skills and experience, along with demonstrable research and/or research support experience in the Digital Humanities area. Good analytical skills and the ability to work on your own initiative are also essential. <br><br>This is a 1 year fixed-term contract.<br><br>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
