Deputy Librarian, English Faculty Library

We are seeking an experienced, versatile and highly-motivated Deputy Librarian
to assist the English Subject Librarian with the management of this large,
busy English Faculty Library, and the delivery of high-quality and innovative
services.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the
library, including helping to develop and implement policy and strategic
plans, assist with financial management, and represent the library on various
committees. You will also play a key role in the recruitment, supervision and
ongoing development of staff, organise and participate in the delivery of
reader services and user and staff education, and manage and participate in
collection management projects as required.

You will have previous experience of working in academic libraries at a
professional level, along with a good degree, preferably in a Humanities
subject, and a professional library qualification, or equivalent skills and
experience. You will have experience of managing and motivating staff, be able
to plan and deliver effective information skills training for a wide range of
library users, and possess excellent customer service and communication
skills. Strong IT skills and an ability to use your own initiative are also
essential.
