Part-time Saturday Library Invigilator

We are seeking to appoint a Saturday invigilator to staff the Bodleian Special
Collection Reading Rooms. This post is part-time for 6 hours per week every
other Saturday (0.08 FTE).
You will undertake a range of library duties associated with front-line reader
services, including issuing books/manuscripts from the Reserve to readers,
dealing with book supply problems, answering readers’ queries, invigilation,
applying library and copyright rules and regulations. You should have a good
general education, be reliable and punctual, be able to work under pressure,
work as part of a team, undertake tasks with accuracy, possess good IT skills
and have a strong customer focus. Previous experience in a special collections
environment and a familiarity with OLIS and library databases are desirable.
Due to the nature of this post, candidates will be required to undertake a
Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check. The
possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not
necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are
judged individually according to the nature of the role and information
provided.
