Project Archivist, Braun Family Archive

This role sits within the Department of Special Collections and Western
Manuscripts at the Bodleian Library. The main purpose of the post is to
arrange, repackage and describe the archive of the Braun family. Further
information about the family and the contents of the archive can be found in
the job description.
You should have an honours degree or equivalent and a postgraduate archive
qualification. You will be proficient in German and have knowledge and
experience of planning and executing archive cataloguing projects, including
knowledge of relevant standards and of the application of IT to archival work.
You will have excellent communication skills and discretion when working with
confidential material. An interest in, 19th and 20th Century European history,
particularly German cultural history in the 19th century, would be ideal.
Due to the nature of this post, candidates will be required to undertake a
Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check. The
possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not
necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are
judged individually according to the nature of the role and information
provided.
This role is fixed-term for 12 months.

considered. Interviews will be held on 13 August 2013. You will be required to
