The University of Oxford is currently recruiting for this key position.

The University of Oxford intends to make an appointment to the post of
Bodley’s Librarian following the departure of Dr Sarah Thomas. The Bodleian
Libraries contain the largest and most diverse collections for the support of
teaching and research in any institution of higher education in the United
Kingdom. With an annual budget of more than £30 million and employing more
than 500 full-time staff, the Bodleian Libraries is the largest unitary
department in the University.

As the Executive Head of the Bodleian Libraries, this role is recognised as
one of the most senior appointments internationally in the library profession.
Bodley’s Librarian is a member of the University and college community, and
the successful candidate will be offered a fellowship at one of the
University’s colleges. Bodley’s Librarian is responsible for the strategy and
management of the Bodleian Libraries and leads on its maintenance, provision
and development – advising the Curators of the University Libraries and the
PVC with responsibility for University collections in their oversight of
library provision for the University.

Applicants will have had experience at an equivalent senior level in major
academic libraries, museums, galleries, or other comparable institutions.
