Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the Oxford-
Man Institute, University of Oxford. The successful candidate will be
sponsored by a Wellcome Trust grant, working under the supervision of
Professor Terry J Lyons FRS, on the project “Collaborative Network for Bipolar
Research to Improve Outcomes” (Conbrio) which is a grant held by the
Department of Psychiatry in which Professor Lyons is a collaborator.
The project involves the integration of novel feature sets generated by rough
path theory with other powerful methods from machine learning to create data
driven prediction and classification tools and better understand bipolar
disorder. The postholder will contribute high quality research pulling
together an array of clinical data and innovative tools for data analysis to
achieve scientific insights for the Conbrio project. The successful candidate
is expected to have a PhD and significant post-qualification research
experience, computational skills and a strong background in deep learning or
rough path theory and be able to interact successfully with a team who already
have computational experience in using rough paths theory for learning from
data.
This is a fixed-term position for 2 years which will start as soon as
possible.
