Part-time Faciliites Team Leader

Our Facilities Management team greet Library users and visitors, provide
information, staff the main reception points, check passes and bags. They are
essential to the care and security of our historic buildings and collections
and play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of our daily
operation.

As the Facilities Team Leader your work will include supervising a team of
10-15 porters in the completion of their daily tasks.

You will be able to supervise and motivate your team, have good organisational
and interpersonal skills, be computer literate or willing to learn new skills,
be able to maintain accurate written records, and have good levels of physical
fitness. A driving licence is desirable as the job may involve driving Library
vehicles. Ideally you will have a SIA qualification (although full training
can be provided), and previous experience of working with the general public.

This post is part-time for 18.25 hours per week. The hours of work will be on
Sundays, with the remaining hours to be spread across two other weekdays (or
three other weekdays when Sundays are not worked). Sundays will be worked
term-time only until the opening of the Weston Library (around September
2014), after which every Sunday will be worked. Weekday attendance may contain
occasional evening duties.

Due to the nature of this post, candidates will be required to undertake a
Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check. The
possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not
necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are
judged individually according to the nature of the role and information
provided.
