Part-time Saturday Invigilator

We are seeking to appoint a Saturday Invigilator to staff the Bodleian Special
Collections Reading Rooms. This is a part-time role working 6 hours alternate
Saturdays (0.08 FTE).
The postholder will undertake a range of library duties associated with front-
line reader services, including issuing books/manuscripts from the Reserve to
readers, dealing with book supply problems, answering readers’ queries,
invigilation, applying library and copyright rules and regulations.
You should have a good general education, with good communication skills and
confidence in working with the public. You will have good IT skills, be able
to undertake tasks with accuracy, be reliable and punctual and have the
ability to work as part of a team.
Previous experience in a special collections environment and a familiarity
with OLIS and library databases are desirable.
These posts require Disclosure Scotland and financial background checks. The
possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not
necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are
judged individually according to the nature of the role and information
provided.
