Working as part of the operational team you will assist in connecting researchers at the University of Oxford with the knowledge resource they need.<br><br>This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the library warehouse service. The team of Warehouse Assistants supports the operations of the Book Storage Facility (BSF) by flexibly performing a variety of tasks in response to customer demand.<br><br>To be successful in this role you will have previous warehouse experience, demonstrate the ability to drive forklift trucks and operate at height. You will also have good attention to detail to be able to locate items according to a barcode reference. A customer focused aptitude is essential. You will also be a good team player, and have a &#8220;can do&#8221; flexible approach to work issues.<br><br>This vacancy is for a late shift cover (2.00 - 10.00) with the occasional rotation to day shift.<br><br>The post is fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.<br><br>Due to the nature of this post, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check. The possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.<br><br>You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the further particulars, and explain how you meet each one.
