<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> Within the Oxford e-Research Centre Volunteer Computing Group we are seeking to appoint a Software and System specialist to strengthen the group to support new projects that utilise the Climatepredication.net platform.<br><br>The particular focus of this work is two-fold, firstly to develop the current CPDN server platforms to support the deployment of large ensembles of global and regional climate models, manage the date they return and make this available to collaborating scientists, secondly the postholder will support the management of the production server infrastructure.<br><br>Applicants will have a doctorate or equivalent experience in an ICT/Computer Science relevant subject. Exceptionally well qualified candidates without a doctoral degree will be considered but may be appointed on a lower salary scale (Grade 6: &#163;27,057 - &#163;32,277p.a.), with an appropriate adjustment of duties. You will manage the infrastructure and servers which run climateprediction.net and Weather@home, you will be developing the infrastructure to ease the projects operational management and supporting cutting edge climate modelling and attribution studies managing real and current big data problems.<br><br>The post is fixed-term until 31 May 2016 in the first instance.<br><br>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 29 August 2014. </div>
