Radcliffe Camera Collections and Information Skills Teamleader and Wellcome Unit Librarian in Charge

We are seeking a highly-motivated and versatile Senior Library Assistant to
contribute to the delivery of high-quality and innovative services.

Working full-time, with a regular weekly evening duty, you will divide your
time between the Radcliffe Camera and the Wellcome Unit for the History of
Medicine Library.

Prime responsibility in the Radcliffe Camera is to lead a small team with
responsibility for administering and contributing to the information skills
programme for History and maintenance of the Radcliffe Camera collections,
such as updating holdings, classification and supervising staff working on
processing, new book displays, binding and stock management. You will also
regularly take part in reader services activities.

In the Wellcome Unit for the History of Medicine library, you will manage and
develop the collections and services of the library, run occasional
specialised user education sessions for the Unit, liaise with the academic
staff of the Wellcome Unit and supervise one part-time member of staff.

You will have experience of working in a higher education library and enjoy
contributing to a strong customer service orientated environment. You will
have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills and be able to work
effectively as part of a team. Knowledge and experience in the application of
metadata, USMARC, LCSH and Library of Congress Classification are essential.
Familiarity with SOLO / Aleph, OXLIP+ and OU eJournals would be an advantage.

You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online
