Deputy Librarian - English Faculty Library (maternity cover)

The Bodleian Libraries are seeking a versatile and highly-motivated Deputy
Librarian to assist the English Subject Librarian with the management of a
large, busy faculty library and the delivery of high-quality, innovative
services for English.
This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover post, and is anticipated to be
for a period of 9 months commencing in April 2015. This period coincides with
a major building and related collections project, which would provide an
excellent opportunity for you to develop project management skills.
You will be responsible for the efficient management and operations in the
library on a day-to-day basis, including services to readers, staff and
collection management.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a humanities
subject. You will also have a professional library qualification and/or
previous experience of working within academic libraries at a professional
level and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service, communication,
presentation and IT skills.
You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online

desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain
