European Blaschko Visiting Research Fellowship

The successful applicant can join any one of the research groups in the Department of Pharmacology (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.pharm.ox.ac.uk">www.pharm.ox.ac.uk</a>) including the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.mrc.ox.ac.uk">www.mrc.ox.ac.uk</a>) depending on their interests. The fellowship is fixed-term for 2 years from 1 October 2015 and is attached to Linacre College where the visiting fellow may reside and have full rights and access to facilities. <br><br>The fellow will manage their own academic research and administrative activities including testing hypotheses, analysing scientific data, developing new scientific techniques, and contributing ideas for new research projects.<br><br>Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate:<br><br>- that they have, or expect to obtain through the submission of their thesis by the time of the interview, a PhD in an appropriate science;<br>- evidence that highlights accuracy and attention to detail, methodical work, reliability, competence with computer skills, and the ability to participate in scientific discussion within the group;<br>- experience of basic laboratory management, including awareness of health and safety issues and ordering of consumables.<br><br>The fellowship will provide a salary of £30,434 - £37,394 p.a., college fees and an award of £2,000 p.a. for travel to conferences and laboratory expenses.<br><br>Applications can only be considered from graduate students in pharmacology or related areas of study resident outside of the UK, preference will be given to students resident in Continental Europe due to the terms of the Blaschko Trust.<br><br>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 9 March 2015. Interviews will be held Tuesday 24 March 2015.
