<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> We are seeking a customer-focused Library Assistant to work as part of a small team in the iconic and busy Radcliffe Camera, which houses the History Faculty Library and Bodleian English and History undergraduate collections. <br><br>You will support the provision of Bodleian Radcliffe Camera library services and assist in front line reader services work in the Lower Camera. This includes staffing the circulation desk and checking in and shelving items requested by readers for material held in the offsite closed stack. The work is physical but also requires a good eye for detail and accuracy as well as the ability to work independently. <br><br>In addition, you will be required to carry out basic collection maintenance responsibilities for printed collections in the Radcliffe Camera. <br><br>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential, as is previous experience of working in a higher education library. Ability to do routine library work under pressure with accuracy, along with reliability and good interpersonal skills are important personal qualities for this post. Familiarity with ALEPH/library databases would be an advantage, though full training will be given as necessary. <br><br>This post is permanent with full-time hours.<br><br>You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online application.
