The Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance is an interdisciplinary
research centre in quantitative finance. It is a part of the University of
Oxford. It has a particular focus on alternative investments and data driven
science.

The institute draws researchers and students from the following departments at
Oxford: Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Law and
Finance, Saïd Business School and Statistics. It has its own building in the
heart of Oxford, which houses its faculty, post-docs and students, as well as
support staff. It provides excellent research facilities including outstanding
computing and data resources and a well-supported seminar and conference
program.

The vibrancy of the OMI research environment comes from its industrial
engagement and interdisciplinary diversity. This combination of commercial and
public policy interests allows the communication, calibration and validation
of research ideas into wider contexts.

The appointed researcher will be expected to develop, engage in and produce
world class academic research. He or she will be connected to a key research
professional from BNP Paribas who shares an interest in the research area. We
believe that such collaboration will create a unique environment to deliver
original thinking.

This role is strategically critical to the further development of the
relationship between BNP Paribas and OMI. Research projects will be defined in
the context of Capital Markets Electronic Businesses. The role requires
frequent interaction with the members of the Quantitative Research Team within
BNP Paribas.

Applications should be made online. It is expected to make this appointment at
Grade 9, however the research experience of the candidate will be taken into
account. Individuals who would take leave on existing positions are welcome to
apply.

This post is fixed-term for 2 years.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 17 June 2015.
