Part-time Communications and Social Media Officer

Applications for this vacancy closed on 11 August 2015 at 12:00PM
The Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford form the largest university
library system in the United Kingdom. Its combined library collections number
more than 11 million printed items, in addition to 50,000 e-journals and vast
quantities of materials in other formats. The Bodleian Libraries also have a
number of exciting projects underway including the recently-refurbished Weston
Library on Broad Street (opened March 2015) and numerous digital projects.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative Communications and Social Media Officer
to join the Web and Digital Media section of our Communications team at an
exciting and busy time. You will be responsible for managing the libraries’
social media presence and platforms and developing content to reach the
libraries’ readers and audiences. While social media is already well-
established at the Bodleian, this is a chance to explore new opportunities and
make your mark. The role also involves supporting internal communications –
such as leading production of our internal staff publications – and service-
wide communications projects ranging from campaigns to promotion of our public
programme.

Experience working on or with social media platforms is essential as is
experience producing staff communications/publications. An interest in
libraries and collections is desirable but not essential.

This is a fixed-term post for 3 years working part-time for 18.75 hours per
week (0.5FTE).

You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online
application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and
desirable selection criteria, as listed in the further particulars, and
explain how you meet each one. CVs will not form part of the selection
process.

Only applications received online before 12.00 noon on Friday 7 August 2015
can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place the week commencing
24 August 2015.
