<p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced museum learning professional to work with a world class collection of scientific instruments within the dynamic environment of the Oxford University museums and collections.</p>
<p>You will be responsible for working with primary school audiences but with scope to contribute to other areas of the education programme. You will be expected to work closely with other members of the team and to develop innovative education al workshops and resources to engage young people in learning from the museum’s collection.</p>
<p>To be considered for this role, you must have demonstrable experience of facilitating learning programmes with primary aged children in school or heritage environments as well as the ability to develop and deliver educational workshops. You will have demonstrable ability to interpret science in the curriculum with an informed interest in and enthusiasm for the history of science.</p>
<p>We are looking for someone with excellent inter-personal and communication skills with the desire and enthusiasm to work effectively with museum audiences, coupled with imagination and empathy. You will also have an appropriate level of IT and research skills, the ability to write and present information targeted to specific audiences, and excellent time management and administrative skills.</p>
<p>This is a fixed-term temporary contract in the first instance until 31 March 2016. Continuation of this role thereafter will be subject to funding.</p>
<p>Please note that only interview travel expenses within the UK will be reimbursed.</p>
<p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 11 September 2015. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 23 September 2015.</p>
