<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>We are seeking an Research Associate/Software Engineer in the research topic area of developing computer word games to investigate how people create and adopt new words.</p><br><p>The postholder will join an international research project on cognitive and social factors that enable people to develop shared vocabularies and to create new words to express new ideas; the methodology uses computer word games to teach people artificial languages, eliciting data from thousands of different participants with diverse backgrounds. They will play a central role in finalising the software platforms for two of the experimental paradigms, and arranging to distribute them as open source.
