<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p>This post is an important role in the Department of Pharmacology in the University&#8217;s Science Area. You will be the first point of contact for the Department, welcoming all visitors to the building, controlling security access and dealing professionally with telephone and face-to-face enquiries.</p> <p>You will also provide general support for the building to ensure that the administrative and building management functions of the Department run smoothly &#8211; this will include updating and maintaining staff lists and contact details, dealing with internal and external room and catering bookings, and assisting other members of the Administrative team with filing and typing where necessary.</p> <p>This role requires the postholder to be assertive and self-sufficient and to be able to proactively contribute to team efforts in helping to maintain the smooth operation of the Department.</p> <p>The successful candidate will need to demonstrate: experience of working in a reception/customer service environment, good typing and general IT skills, the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both on the telephone and face to face, excellent timekeeping and reliability, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a professional appearance and manner</p> <p>The working hours for this post are 8.00 am - 4.00 pm, early and late cover is provided by additional reception and security staff.</p> <p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 2 October 2015.</p> </div>
