Postdoctoral Researcher in Multi-Objective Decision Making
Making has arisen in the Department of Computer Science. The aim of this
project is to develop new multi-objective decision-making algorithms to aid in
the development of socially intelligent telepresence robots.
Reporting to Professor Shimon Whiteson, the focus will be on using multi-
objective reasoning to integrate multiple sources of implicit feedback from
the robot's environment. The research will be conducted as part of a European
project called "Telepresence Reinforcement Learning Social Robot (TERESA)", in
which the University of Oxford participates and collaborates on with several
other European universities and companies. The project aims to develop a
socially intelligent semi-autonomous telepresence robot and successfully
demonstrate its application in an elderly day centre.
You should have a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on multi-objective
decision-theoretic planning, evidenced by a track record of top research
publications in that area.
The post is fixed-term for 7 months from 1 March 2016.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 30 September 2015.
