Senior Research Associate - Wordovators

The centre is seeking a Senior Research Associate to word on the Wordovators
project which is based in the centre, the New Zealand Institute of Language
Brain and Behaviour and the Department of Linguistics at North Western
University. The postholder will join this international research team which is
investigating the structure and dynamics of the lexicon in natural language.
The methodology uses computer word games to teach people artificial languages,
eliciting data from thousands of different participants with diverse
backgrounds. They will design new experiments using existing paradigms, and
collaborate in the designing of new multi-player paradigms. He or she will
play a central role in developing novel methods of data analysis to exploit
the detailed dynamic information available from the game logs, to learn more
about the time course of learning and effects of social interactions.

This post is fixed-term for 18 months due to grant funding.
