The Department of Computer Science has an exciting new opening for a full-time Editorial Assistant/Personal Assistant. The purpose of the role is to provide organisational and operational support for the administration of ‘The Journal of Web Semantics’, as well as PA support for Professor Ian Horrocks’ and his research group.

You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end publishing process for papers to this journal, involving maintaining the web content, pre-print server content, and using the document review and publication system. Alongside this, you will be the Professor’s main point of contact, scheduling meetings, organising travel, co-ordinating correspondence, managing local projects, and co-ordinating events.

The ideal candidate will be a professional self-starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, precise attention-to-detail, a confident and informed decision-maker, with the ability to organise your workload, prioritising tasks to ensure maximum efficiency. You should have experience of managing the office of a senior staff member, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and web content management applications.
