Part-time Evening Library Invigilator (variable hours)

The Bodleian K B Chen China Centre Library is looking to appoint a part-time
Evening Invigilator to form part of team of two covering evening duties during
term-time.



You will be working alone at the main library desk in the evenings and your
duties will include checking books in and out and answering readers’ queries.



You will be a flexible, approachable and reliable individual to invigilate the
library and reading room when regular library staff leave at 5.00 pm. You will
be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with good IT skills. Experience of
working in a library will be an advantage.



This is a permanent, variable hours/paid as claimed post. It is anticipated
that working hours will be around 4 to 10 hours per week, during term-time
(weeks 1-8). Available hours are likely to be from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, Monday
to Friday, and will be shared with the other Library Invigilator.



Owing to the nature of this post, candidates will be required to undertake a
Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check. The
possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not
necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are
judged individually according to the nature of the role and information
provided.



You will be required to upload a supporting statement as part of your online
