Team Leader - Move Project

The museum is seeking a strong team leader to lead a small team responsible for coordinating the packing and storage of a significant reserve collection currently housed in a warehouse facility. The project is on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2018, and is based in Oxford.</p><br><p>The Team Leader will be required to manage and participate in the planning, documentation, photography, packing, and storage of objects in a safe manner and within the project deadline. The Team Leader will also manage the Project Assistants. The Project Team will be responsible on a day-to-day basis to the Collections Manager and the Museum Conservator, working ultimately to the museum&#8217;s Director. The post will be based in a warehouse environment and involves lifting objects and packed boxes.</p><br><p>Full details of the post are available in the job description. The essential requirements include experience of working in a museum or equivalent heritage site; understanding, knowledge and experience of handling and packing complex and delicate artefacts, and familiarity with the principles of museum security, museum storage of objects, museum conservation and handling of museum objects; experience of supervising, managing and motivating staff and a proven ability to work effectively and constructively as part of a team.</p><br><p>An application form and further particulars can be downloaded from the University of Oxford website.
