DLO Helpdesk Operative Administrative Support

The Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) headed by the DLO Manager, employs about
40 tradesmen of varying disciplines. These include mechanical fitters,
plumbers, carpenters and joiners, polishers, shift working plant attendants,
clerks, drivers and general labourers. There is also a requirement to employ
and manage external contractors to supplement the workforce as the work
demands. The DLO carries out a variety of maintenance tasks across the
University Estate.



The main responsibilities of the postholder will be to provide Helpdesk and
administrative support including typing, filing and stock control and
purchasing. The administration staff are managed by the Administrative
Supervisor. Training will be provided for all activities as required



This post is part of a pilot scheme testing a new Supporting Evidence form in
place of the more usual ‘supporting statement’. Please ensure that you
