<p></p><p>We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher to work on a collaborative project within the Vasudevan group for duration of 3 years. This fixed-term project, funded by the BBSRC, focuses on investigating the role of Ca2+ and its related second messengers in regulating cellular circadian rhythms. In addition to having a PhD (or MD) or equivalent qualification in a relevant biological science discipline, candidates should have a competitive track record appropriate to their stage of career.</p><br><p>The successful candidate will be expected to develop, deliver and manage a focused programme of research that uses a range of techniques from second messenger measurements to cellular imaging and molecular techniques to elucidate the function of calcium and its second messengers in regulating circadian rhythms. This will include the design, execution and reporting of his/her own experiments, contributing to the future research directions of the host group, and, when appropriate, the introduction and development of new systems, methods and technologies in pursuit of the scientific goals of the programme.</p><br><p>Reporting to the PI, the postholder is a member of a research group with responsibility for the provision of research support for a discrete area of a large project. The postholder provides guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students.</p><br><p>The post is available from 1 March 2016 or soon thereafter.</p><br><p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 22 February 2016.</p>
