<p></p><p>The Museum of the History of Science, University of Oxford, is aiming to increase its commercial revenue and has thus created a new role that operates across front-of-house activities. The postholder will have special responsibility for the Museum shop and act as the co-ordinator and supervisor of the gallery team.</p><br><p>The successful candidate will have a proven ability to co-ordinate and supervise a team, the ability to spot and deal with issues within the team and, if necessary, to escalate these upwards. The postholder’s main focus will be the newly-created small Museum shop; the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to run a small commercial outlet largely independently, and to operate tills and handle cash effectively, while assisting with the development of the stock.</p><br><p>This is a full-time and fixed-term post for 18 months. Rostered between 2 and 6 days per week, including weekends (job share considered).</p><br><p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 22 February 2016. Interviews will take place on 3 March 2016.</p>
