IT and Web Support Officer

This post has been created to manage and support the website and intranet of
the Department of Pharmacology and to provide IT support for academic,
research and support staff in the department, as well as students and
visitors.
The postholder will respond to IT issues and queries and provide support where
necessary to all members of the department. The successful candidate will be
expected to prioritise issues and to deal with people at all levels of the
organisation, both within the department and in the wider University.
The postholder will take responsibility for updating content on the
Pharmacology website, creating new pages where necessary and continuously
improving the navigation and structure of the site according to the needs of
the department.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate: systems knowledge of
PC server hardware and software; excellent IT support knowledge and proven
customer service experience; and detailed knowledge of website content
management systems, including the management of user accounts, website set up
and structure and troubleshooting. In addition, the postholder will need
highly developed organisational skills, excellent oral and written
communication skills and the ability to work on own initiative and to
prioritise competing demands.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 11 March 2016.
