Professor Schofield has one of the largest research groups in the Department of Chemistry (http://research.chem.ox.ac.uk/christopher-schofield.aspx). The group&#8217;s research is driven by the desire to apply chemical principles and techniques to understanding biology. Professor Schofield has multiple collaborations with scientists in medical sciences.</p><br><p>The PA plays a key role in supporting Professor Schofield in his day-to-day activities as well as contributing to the smooth running of his research group, working closely with Professor Schofield&#8217;s HoS PA in order to be aware of all aspects of work involved and be able to cover when required.</p><br><p>The successful applicant will need strong organisational skills with proven experience of administration in a busy and complex environment, ability to work with minimal supervision and set priorities, strong numeracy skills and IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office programmes and the ability to learn new packages including systems used by the University and research funders. Experience of working in a similar role within Higher Education is also desirable.</p><br><p>You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.</p><br><p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 22 July 2016.</p><br><p>The University of Oxford and Department of Chemistry are Athena SWAN Silver Award holders.
