Researcher on FADAMS - Foundations of Factorised Data Management Systems (2 posts)

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>The department has a superb new opportunity for up to two full-time researchers on the Foundations of Factorised Data Management Systems (FADAMS) project, for up to 2 years, with the possibility of extension for a further 2 years. Reporting to Professor Dan Olteanu, you will be a member of the Information Systems group, sponsored by an ERC consolidator grant.</p><br><p>The post holder(s) will be expected to collaborate with internal and external academic and industrial collaborators, publish research findings, design solutions to problems in the considered areas such as proofs of formal statements, design and implementation, testing and benchmarking.</p><br><p>You will have a PhD (or very close to completion) in computer science, together with a strong publication record in at least one of the following: database systems or theory, distributed systems, algorithms, or machine learning. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project is highly desirable.</p><br><p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 22 July 2016.
