Apprentice Software Developer
Applications for this vacancy closed on 19 August 2016 at 12:00PM
As well as learning basic software developer skills, this Higher Level SITS
Apprenticeship will teach you about the software development lifecycle, and
how this is implemented in a Higher Education Institution (HEI). You will have
the opportunity to work with Business Analysts to understand the business
requirements for a given development; work with other developers to see how
these requirements might be turned into a design; and then assist in the
development and implementation of the solution. You will also work with other
colleagues in the Support Centre to transition the development into live
service, and then help to support that development.
Becoming an Apprentice at the University of Oxford is an excellent opportunity
to gain practical experience and training. For more information visit:
www.apprenticeships.ox.ac.uk
College attendance and successful completion of these studies is an essential
requirement of this Apprenticeship. You will be required to complete a two
year training programme delivered by The Cornwall College Group to gain a
Level 4 Software Development qualification.
You should have, or be expected to obtain A-levels, including computer
science, or an equivalent and relevant Level 3 vocational qualification, and
demonstrate an enthusiasm and aptitude for the skills taught in the
Apprenticeship.
This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored tier 2 visa
under the points based immigration system, however applications are welcome
from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who
would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
