Associate Professorship or Professorship of Russian Linguistics and Comparative Slavonic Philology

The University, in association with Lady Margaret Hall and Somerville College,
is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor of Russian Linguistics
and Comparative Slavonic Philology. She or he will be expected to undertake
research, teach undergraduates and postgraduates, and supervise postgraduate
students in these areas. An ability to teach and do research on at least one
South Slavonic language will be an advantage.



Candidates should be able to contribute to Russian language teaching and
Russian Linguistics teaching at all levels of the undergraduate degree, and to
take charge of postgraduate courses and supervision. They should have an
excellent knowledge of Russian, established skills in language teaching,
including the ability to teach translation from Russian into English to
undergraduates, and should have native or near-native fluency in English. They
should possess a Master's degree and a doctoral degree related to Russian
linguistics and comparative Slavonic philology.
