Our World In Data (OWID) is a non-profit academic project based at the Oxford Martin School. Everything we produce is either open source or creative commons. OWID has been covered widely by the media, including by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Forbes, Slate, Vox, The Guardian, The Financial Times, and the BBC. The site is popular on social media, and we know from feedback we’ve received that our material is frequently used in teaching and lectures.


If you’ve ever wanted to use your technical skills to help with research, education, or social improvement, this is a good opportunity to do so. We hope that our work will help people to understand the world in which they live, and so enable them to make good decisions about social policy and global development. You’re also likely to learn a lot about a wide variety of topics in the process!
