Applications for this vacancy closed on 19 June 2017 at 12:00PM
THIS POST COULD BE CONSIDERED AS A SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Retail Operations department is responsible for generating income and
profit for the Bodleian Libraries, through on-site sales in our two shops –
the Old Schools Quad Shop and the Weston Library Shop – and online at
www.bodleianshop.co.uk.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience of collaborative
working to join our small retail team. You will contribute to the ongoing
success of the department with your excellent customer service and selling

marketing activity and website maintenance. Some lifting, carrying and moving
of stock is required, as part of the receipting deliveries and replenishing
stock levels.

You will be committed to providing the highest standards of customer service
and able to work under pressure. You will have excellent verbal and written
communication skills and demonstrable experience of using a retail EPOS
system. You will also be able to work with accuracy and have meticulous
attention to detail. Experience of using image manipulation software or using
an e-commerce platform is desirable

This is a part-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, working 15 hours per
week (0.41FTE)

The working pattern is anticipated to be (with some flexibility): Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday: 10.00am - 2.00pm; Friday: 11.00am - 2.00pm.

Please discuss secondments with your line manager in the first instance, as
you must have their agreement that you can be released for a secondment before
you submit an application.

Owing to the nature of this post, the successful candidate will be required to
undertake a Disclosure Scotland check as well as a financial background check.
The possession of a criminal record or poor financial background will not
necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are
judged individually according to the nature of the role and information
provided.

This post is part of a pilot scheme testing a new Supporting Evidence Form in
place of the more usual ‘supporting statement’. You MUST submit a completed
Supporting Evidence Form in order for your application to be processed.
Covering letters, supporting statements and CVs will NOT form part of the
selection process. Please ensure that you carefully read the How to Apply
section provided in the Job Description, which you can download below along
with the required Supporting Evidence Form.

Only applications received online by 12.00 midday on Monday 19 June 2017 can
be considered. Interviews are expected to take place on Thursday 29 June 2017.
