Finance Officer

An opportunity for a full-time Finance Officer has arisen in the Department to
manage the finances of a portfolio of research grants, studentships and Impact
Acceleration Awards in line with University and funding body rules and
regulations, as well as deputise for the Finance Office Team Leader,
supervising general finance administration in their absence.



You will interact closely with a wide variety of teams in the management of
their portfolio of grants and awards, which will include internal colleagues
within the Department of Computer Science, such as finance team colleagues,
the Graduate Studies Administrator, Project Managers or Principal
Investigators and external stakeholders within the Division or University,
such as Central Finance or project sponsors, in line with relevant financial
procedures and policies.



We are seeking applicants with experience of managing multiple projects and
deadlines, with excellent prioritisation, accuracy and time management skills,
who are committed to achieving both individual and team goals through
excellent team working and communication skills. Applicants will also need to
have had experience of working within a general finance office in an
administrative role and experience of interpreting financial policies. You
will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, and be a competent user of
Microsoft Office. Previous experience of the University’s Oracle financial
system, and an AAT qualification (or part-qualification) are desirable.



The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 15 May 2017. Interviews are
expected to be held on 23 May 2017.
