Graduate Studies Officer
Applications for this vacancy closed on 25 October 2017 at 12:00PM
The Faculty of English Language and Literature seeks to appoint a Graduate
Studies Officer capable of playing a key role in the administration of
graduate studies in a large and busy faculty. The Faculty has two Graduate
Studies Officers (1.6 FTE) who are jointly responsible for the smooth and
efficient running of the graduate office. This full-time post will have an
initial focus on the administration of the Faculty’s Postgraduate Taught (PGT)
degrees (MSt and MPhil). However, flexibility and the ability to cover the
range of graduate administration are inherent in the role, and duties will be
assigned between the posts to reflect workloads and individuals’ experience
and abilities. The postholder will also form part of the wider administration
team in the English Faculty and be expected to acquire a reasonable level of
knowledge of processes ‘across the board’ and to be able to cover for
colleagues.
This is a responsible and demanding position in a busy academic office, which
provides an excellent opportunity to develop a wide range of administrative
skills.
Applicants will have administrative experience (ideally in higher education),
with meticulous attention to detail, and good communication, organisational
and IT skills.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to
upload a supporting statement as part of your online application.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 midday on 25 October 2017.
