Applications for this vacancy closed on 13 November 2017 at 12:00PM
Are you an excellent project manager with a proven track record of
coordinating complex projects? Are you able to liaise and develop trust with
large extended teams to deliver a project in partnership? Do you have
meticulous attention to detail, the ability to analyse large quantities of
data, as well as the capacity for strategic thinking? The Medical Sciences and
Humanities Divisions at the University of Oxford are each looking to appoint a
Project Manager who, in consultation with senior managers, will manage the
divisions’ submissions to the Research Excellence Framework (REF2021). This is
a full-time, fixed-term role until February 2021.

You will be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of the Medical Sciences
or Humanities Division’s REF submission, working across a wider team of
academics and administrators, the central REF team and other divisions. This
will involve coordinating the collection and preparation of all narrative and
data components; establishing appropriate systems and processes to manage and
validate data; liaising with academic leads of the relevant REF units of
assessment and producing and delivering policy papers, briefings, and reports.
You will also line-manage divisional staff who support REF impact case
studies.

You will therefore need excellent project management, communication, and
interpersonal skills to enable effective collaborative working, influencing
and supporting academic and administrative staff at all levels to deliver a
large-scale, complex project. You will need to be educated at least to degree
level, preferably with demonstrable experience of higher education research
support administration and policy; and able to work independently as part of a
wider team, managing time and prioritising work effectively and efficiently to
tight deadlines. You will be required to demonstrate excellent analytical
capability alongside verbal and written communication skills to provide the
strategic advice academic leads require. You will have to balance this
alongside practical guidance to individual researchers and the delivery of the
routine and repetitive tasks required by the REF submission process.

Applications must be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and
supporting statement as part of your application.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 13 November 2017.
