Research Assistant on System-Wide Financial Stress Testing
to support a large research project on system-wide financial stress testing
conducted within the Complexity Economics Group at the Institute of New
Economic Thinking.
You will aid with the software implementation of system-wide stress testing
models. This involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying
professional-quality code in Java or Python, drafting software documentation,
assisting with coding the stress test multi-agent models, and implementation
of novel stress-testing algorithms to analyse systemic risk.
You will have an undergraduate degree and/or MSc in computer science or a
related discipline, proven experience as a software engineer in Java and
Python, an organised approach to structuring and commenting code, knowledge of
software testing using automated unit testing techniques, experience of
developing graphical user interfaces, and experience of dealing with big data.
Knowledge of systemic risk, financial system modelling, and developing multi-
agent systems is highly desirable.
