Applications for this vacancy closed on 11 December 2017 at 12:00PM
The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint an Archivist for the Archive of
Performances of Greek and Roman Drama to cover a period of maternity leave.

The Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama (APGRD) is a major
research project, which was founded in October 1996. The project seeks to
trace the history of the performance and reception of Greek and Roman drama
and epic from antiquity to the modern day. The interim archivist will cover a
period of maternity leave and report to the Director.

The Archive has extensive electronic databases as well as physical
collections. Registered users can query the databases online and can make
appointments to study in the physical collections. The Archivist will be
looking after both databases and physical collections, cataloguing new
accessions, developing the databases, ensuring the preservation of the
physical material, and administering visitors' access.

In addition, the Archive organises regular research events, both lectures
(currently ca. three per term) and conferences (currently ca. two per year),
and publishes books, many of which are edited volumes deriving from the
conferences. The Archivist will support the organisation of these research
events and will assist in preparing the publications.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 11 December 2017. It
is expected that interviews will be held on Wednesday 13 December 2017.
