<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>The Museum of the History of Science is looking for Variable Hours Gallery Assistants who are able to provide a visitor experience that exceeds the public&#8217;s expectation.</p><br> <p>Ideally, you will have work experience from a customer services background, or similar. Your role will also play a part in helping to protect the collections and the museum structure, and therefore you will have some knowledge of basic security procedures and health and safety requirements in a sensitive environment.</p><br> <p>In this visitor-facing role you will possess first class communication skills, able to answer questions regarding the museum and its objects in a professional and courteous manner. You will also have a confident and pro-active approach to dealing with arising problems and issues as well as demonstrate a positive attitude with a desire to achieve results as a team.</p><br> <p>You will be required to closely monitor the galleries during public opening hours, being present to help with enquiries, provide directions and generally ensure the safe-keeping of the museums&#8217; artefacts.</p><br> <p>Throughout a working day light-lifting may be required - physical fitness for standing and walking is required, since there is limited opportunity to sit during the shift.</p><br> <p>Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
