Part-time Events, Administrative and Bookings Assistant

THIS VACANCY IS FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY.
The role is an exciting opportunity to join a small and busy team supporting
the activities of TORCH, including its Knowledge Exchange and wide range of
programmes. You will assist in all aspects of its event organisation, provide
administrative support for TORCH’s team, and liaise with other parts of the
Humanities Division administration.
This is a part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed-term post available as soon as possible
until 31 July 2018.
You will need good people skills as you will be supporting work with donors,
senior academic leaders, and professional staff. You will also need to be able
to complete tasks accurately, and to demonstrate a willingness to contribute
to the overall success of TORCH.
Applicants should have excellent word processing and other computer skills,
including the use of databases and spreadsheets; the ability to cope well
under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail; Relevant
practical experience in events organisation/administration; Proven experience
of working independently, with teams and under the direction of senior staff;
Ability to communicate well with good writing and proof-reading skills;
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
