We are seeking to appoint a Front-end Developer to work on the development of
the Our World in Data project and website, working under the direction of the
Lead Developer and the Programme Director Dr Max Roser.
The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that the Our World in Data
site is aesthetically pleasing whilst functioning perfectly and intuitively.
In order to do this, your primary task will be a redesign and implementation
of ourworldindata.org. Furthermore, you will work with the project team to
design a new visual exploration tool to allow the public direct access to our
database and make continual improvements to this through design and
implementation of new types of interactive data visualisation.
You will also liaise with the project team, technical staff in the wider
University and, where appropriate, external institutions to ensure that Our
World in Data functions according to design specifications, whilst making
recommendations on future technology choices for website development.
You should hold a bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering
or have equivalent qualifications or experience, have a demonstrable portfolio
of excellent web design projects that you have worked on, alongside strong
knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
This full-time position is fixed-term until 15 November 2021.
