<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <p></p><p>The Security research theme at the Department of Computer Science is pleased to announce an opening for a Research Associate in Cyber Security. This project is coordinated by the Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT), and has 10 partners in total across Europe. You will have the opportunity to travel across Europe to partake in project meetings.</p><br> <p>You will be a core member of a research team with responsibility for carrying out research and development for PROTECTIVE, a Horizon2020 project, aimed at delivering better cyber situational awareness through enhanced threat intelligence sharing in National Research and Education Networks (NRENs), Small to Medium-size Enterprises (SMEs), Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and public Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT).</p><br> <p>The primary selection criteria are a PhD (or close to completion) in a relevant area (e.g. computer science, engineering), notable experience in requirements analysis, and turning this in to software, in-depth knowledge of python, web development, misuse detection systems and computer networks. The ability to understand how to derive requirements from interview data, and a background in data privacy and management (GDPR) are highly desirable.</p><br> <p>The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 12 July 2018.</p><br> <p>Our staff and students come from all over the world and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture.
