Teaching Fellow in Russian

The Faculty are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Russian from 1 January
2019 to 30 June 2019. The Teaching Fellow will provide teaching in Russian
language and literature. This post carries teaching, administrative and
pastoral responsibilities for undergraduates studying Russian at Jesus, Oriel,
St Catherine’s, St John’s and St Peter’s Colleges, and involves collaborative
arrangements with other colleagues in Russian as well.



They will be expected to give no fewer than 16 lectures in Russian literature
and to give an average of 4 - 5 tutorial hours in Russian language and
literature in each week of full term, arranged across colleges.



Applicants must possess: A good undergraduate degree in Russian, to be
pursuing (or have completed) a DPhil/PhD in Russian Literature, fluency in
written and spoken Russian and English, some relevant teaching experience at
undergraduate level in Russian and a strong commitment to the tutorial system,
and willingness to assist in the Faculty’s life and governance.
